A WTF Experience on BuyAndShip and NinjaVan

My experience with Buy&Ship's forwarding service was a blend of convenience and frustration. Initially, I placed an order worth around $1000 from eBay and opted for Buy&Ship to handle the international shipping. The initial stages were smooth, and the package arrived in the Philippines without any issues. However, the situation deteriorated when Buy&Ship handed over the delivery to NinjaVan, their local delivery partner. Unfortunately, NinjaVan lost my package, leaving me in a state of frustration and concern over my investment.

NinjaVan assured Buy&Ship that they would fully refund the cost of the lost package. However, when I contacted Buy&Ship for my refund, I was surprised to discover that I would only receive 100. According to their policy, uninsured items are eligible for a maximum refund of $100, irrespective of the item's actual value. I repeatedly reached out to Buy&Ship to understand their policy better and to see if I could recover more of my loss, but their response remained the same: I would only receive $100. This experience left me feeling disappointed and more cautious about using forwarding services in the future. It also underscored the critical importance of purchasing insurance for valuable items to avoid such financial setbacks. Moving forward, I will ensure that I consider insurance to protect my investments.
