BuyAndShip Is Not A Good Option Compared To Other Forwarders Like ShippingCart and JohnnyAir

My recent experience with Buy&Ship was a stark reminder of the importance of insurance when shipping valuable items internationally. I had ordered a product from eBay, a significant purchase of around $1000. The initial experience with Buy&Ship was seamless. The package made its way across the ocean and arrived in the Philippines without a hitch. Everything was going smoothly, until the package was handed off to NinjaVan for the final leg of its journey within the country.

That's when things went south. My package, containing my expensive purchase, was lost by NinjaVan. The sinking feeling in my stomach was immediate. I contacted Buy&Ship, hoping for a swift resolution. NinjaVan, to their credit, acknowledged their mistake and indicated they would reimburse Buy&Ship for the lost item. I breathed a sigh of relief, thinking the situation was resolved.

However, that relief was short-lived. I was informed that Buy&Ship's policy for uninsured packages only covered up to $100, regardless of the item's actual value. This was a shock. My $1000 purchase was now only worth $100 in their eyes. I spent countless hours trying to contact Buy&Ship, explaining the situation and pleading my case. Their responses were consistent and unwavering: $100 was the maximum payout.

The entire ordeal was incredibly frustrating. The initial smooth experience with Buy&Ship was completely overshadowed by this disappointing outcome. It was a costly lesson learned. While the initial cost of insurance might seem like an unnecessary expense, I now understand its true value. Going forward, I will never ship anything of significant value without proper insurance. This experience has taught me a valuable, albeit painful, lesson about the risks involved in international shipping and the crucial role of insurance in protecting your investments.
